Tom Lopez is a career veteran of the transportation industry. His client roster represents top brands from the manufacturing, entertainment, lifestyle, and fashion markets. Tom’s demonstrated sales record in cross-border transportation between the US and Canada, and in Intermodal, FTL, and LTL, launched immediately following his graduation from UCLA, where he earned a BA in Economics and International Studies.

TIM SHAW
GENERAL MANAGER
Tim Shaw brings to MAV the benefit of four decades' breadth and depth of experience in cross-border operations. Tim has witnessed the evolution of industry standards and practices for safety and compliance, security, vehicle maintenance, LTL operations, warehousing and customs clearance. Tim's early career began in Toronto, Canada before relocating to California in 1990 to oversee the cross-border operations for a Canadian- based trucking company.

Shelly Duffy

Shelly Duffy, a California native with Canadian roots, staked an early claim in the transportation industry; her family owned and operated multiple trucking and warehouse businesses. Shelly's drive for excellence speaks to her dedication as a leader of the MAV executive team. Her expertise in rates, pricing, claims and compliance have made MAV's administration and operations soar. Shelly studied Global Logistics at California State Long Beach and has held managment positions at several well-known transportation companies prior to MAV.

JOHN ABATE

John Abate's passion for the cross-border transportation industry began in Toronto, Canada in 1989. He is an internationally recognized specialist in freight movement between the US and Canada. John sits on the Board of Directors of the California Trucking Association, promoting and representing the transportation industry on regulatory and legislative issues. Prior to joining MAV, John founded MSM Canadian Transport as Managing Partner.

John Wheeler

As the Canadian partner to MAV, John Wheeler has been in the transportation industry for 33 years. Using his ability to think outside the box, John created highly effective LTL 3 PL purchasing tariffs, as well as ISO Quality Plans. His hard work and dedication to the trade, as well as to all new customers, will help ensure that long term relationships are made. Additionally, John's operational management handles all functions related to WMS and TMS. John brings an exceptional track record to MAV.
